Mystery unfolded.....Gethin goes to Hollywood!

Gethin is to spend a number of hours on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in L.A. - chasing down and getting gossip out of all those Hollywood celebs for Sky 1. He is very excited, apparently (no high-pitched girly squealing please, Jones!)

Back in the UK, his Strictly oppo, Claudia Winkleman will be holding the fort for Sky Movies. I'm not even joking!

Gethin is on Sky1 with a new show

Sky1 tweeted today that they were doing 'some press with Gethin Jones this morning for an exciting new presenting job he is doing'.

He is excited about this (as are we) - and there seems to have been some 'serious' interest from Heat magazine. What the show is, we have no idea - yet!

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Gethin delighted a HUGE crowd of people in Guildford on Thursday night, including 3 intrepid GGs who hotfooted it over there after work. With obvious delight, he was first to wish the good burghers of the town a Merry Christmas! He saw us, we saw him, he even took a picture of us frantically waving balloons, which fortunately seems not to have worked (phew!).



Rehearsals seem to be progressing on the Panto (oh, yes they are!), with a good rapport being struck with the rest of the cast. Are they discovering that the Prince of Wales is actually a bit of a Prince Charming in real life? I think they might!



The daytime TV game show 'Sell me the Answer', seems to be doing well, though we could have wished for this to be shown at a better time of day!



Mystery surrounds what he has been filming of late, though we do know it involves driving cars, so feel free to speculate. All I know is I am mightily jealous of him having a go in a 'skid car'. This is one of my ambitions!

The long (long, long, LONG) awaited Sky1 game show, 'Sell Me The Answer' - in which an unsuspecting contestant takes on the might of 60 ne'er do well 'traders' to help (or hinder) their progress towards £25,000 - starts on weekdays from 9th November at 3.30pm. See some double-dealing and skullduggery going on as these poor saps choose their 'help'.

Our very gorgeous quiz-master is none other than Mr. Gethin (can we keep that bit in, it was FUNNY?) Jones.

Trust me, it's going to be a great show! How do I know - well, for a brief moment, in the immortal words of Max Boyce, I was there! My lips are sealed.....

Last weekend we had the pleasure of meeting Mr Logan at his Sparks charity challenge! Plus we managed to coerce James Cracknell into the picture!

It was all great fun, if exhausting, and it didn't rain....

4 intrepid Geth's Girls are off to a location just North of Slough to run, cycle, pit their wits and skills against challenges, and complete an assault course.....have they any idea what they are doing?

Anyway, we joined this mallarkey because it was being sponsored by the Kilted Paso Doble King, Kenny Logan, and we had heard that a certain Gethin Jones might just be in attendance. Disappointingly it seems not, but we live in hope!

Gethin Jones - Stormtrooper or Robin Hood?

Gethin is still on the epic Skyride......finishing this week in Leicester, he has battled through Time and Space, by way of Robin Hood's home of Nottingham and the Space Centre where he met a Stormtrooper.

Geth'll Fix It

Gethin will be back on the road again next week - he's been checking out the logistics whilst doing the (temporary) day job of presenting the One Show with Gloria (Gethinus interruptus) Hunniford. Make sure you keep up to date by following his blog.

Talking of the One Show, I have been a little concerned that Ms Hunniford is actually trying to edge Mr Jones off the sofa....but he is hanging on manfully.

Highlights for me so far have been Geth's Usain Bolt challenge, and his 'Geth'll fix it' moment reuniting two wartime chums. Least said about the 'Chucky' style bollards, and what type of trunks Justin Lee Collins should have been wearing the better I feel......'something to do with birds' (yes, Geth, we did hear that comment!)

Don't forget it is Gethin's penultimate 5Live show tomorrow!

Elle McPherson, Gethin Jones and Olympian Vicky Pendleton pose for pictures for the Launch of the Skyride events in London.

Sky today announced a series of mass-participation summer cycling events, supported by British Cycling, to encourage Great Britain to get back on the bike. The announcement comes as new research reveals that over seven million bikes lay unused in sheds, gardens, garages and homes across the UK.......and mine is one of them!

OK, so hands up all those who are pondering how they get their bike to 'wherever' so they can watch Gethin cycling off into the distance? Now now, I am not thinking about the view from that perspective.....

Geth and Katherine made a rare public appearance at Ascot this week, and Katherine looked particularly lovely in a Philip Treacy hat in 'GG' signature hot pink!

I just want to know what Geth did with his hat - obviously not to his liking!

This afternoon, Gethin finally went for his eye lasering experience....apparently, he got his sister to have a go at it first! Well, what are sisters for?

It's BAFTA (Cymru) time again!

This year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards Ceremony will celebrate its 18th Birthday and take place on Sunday 17 May, 2009 in the Wales Millennium Centre in the heart of Cardiff Bay.

The ceremony will bring a host of talent and celebrities from Wales to LA and heading up the presentations will be will be TV Presenter, Gethin Jones - an evening not to be missed!

The Welsh media industry will be out in force at the event which will see winners walk away with the coveted BAFTA Cymru mask in over 30 Programme, Craft and Performance categories - in addition to special presentations for the Sian Phillips Award, Gwyn Alf Williams and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Ioan Gruffudd, winner of the 2008 "Sian Phillips Award" said of the 2008 awards ceremony "The BAFTA Cymru show was brilliant and I thought it was incredibly tasteful as well as brilliantly put together and highly entertaining".

Delighted to be returning as host, Gethin Jones says: "I can't wait to return to the WMC for the 18th Welsh BAFTA’s. Last year once again proved what tremendous talent Wales has to offer in all aspects of broadcasting and interactive media and some true stars took to the stage. On the field - Hillsborough Memorial Match

The Hillsborough Memorial Match, ITV4 Thursday 14th May 7-10pm, kick off 7.45

Gethin will be appearing as one of the 'Celebrity' team at Anfield next week in the Hillsborough Memorial football match against Liverpool 'All-Stars'. The match has been organised by Kenny Dalglish for the Marina Dalglish charity appeal, which hopes to raise funds for the building of a new Radiotherapy Unit at University Hospital in Aintree.

Geth will be joined by fellow Welshman Joe Calzaghe, and Paul Gascoigne amongst others!


Kenny says:
'There'll be a real family feel to the occasion and a few laughs no doubt - but rest assured everyone will take the game seriously.

Last night was the night

Gethin managed to make a rather naff flame circus oufit look HOT (hot, flame, geddit?). Move over Austin Healey, the Strictly 'guns' award surely goes to Gorgeous Gethin!

Geth appeared (apparently to JB's surprise) on John Barrowman's TV show 'Tonight's the Night' and this is now on iPlayer for all to see!

Juicy!!!

Twitter teasing from Geth led us to think he might be......and true to his (cryptic) word, Gethin (and his BMW) made an appearance on the irreverent quiz show Celebrity Juice on ITV2 on Wednesday night .

Claudia Winkleman (whatever happened to 'Snuggles'?) said that Gethin's was a 'girl's' car. Geth was NOT amused! It was a lovely shiny black BMW 3 series convertible though, so maybe she had a point!

The show is on the ITV catch up service and will be repeated at 1.30 am on Monday!

Another fine adventure for Gethin's Girls.....we were in attendance at the EDF Ideal Home show when Geth presented the award to worthy winner Kevin Meredith (another Welshman!).

We caught up with Geth after and had a bit of a chat, always a pleasure (Gethin, there's nothing wrong with my flower brooch, and no, it does NOT squirt water!).

Gethin is excited to be hosting his own brand new quiz show 'Sell me the answer!' which airs later in May/June/July on Sky 1. Filming starts next week, so that will be a busy schedule!

He was also telling us about things he had bought at the show.....and kidded us they included a jacuzzi with mirror and TV!

We knew from him and now officially that he will be hosting a Radio 5 Live show over the Summer - from 6th June to 29th August .......... so make space in your busy diaries!

I'm off now to try to use the various things I bought from the Ideal Home!

This week had been a largely Gethin-free zone until last night, when he turned up in THE shirt on Comic Relief's 'Let's Dance' to support fellow former and current Blue Peter presenters.

As one GG said, there was something slightly odd about THAT shirt with a BP badge.....however, he was always taking his shirt off....thank goodness!

So, we wait with bated breath for whatever the Welsh Wonder will come up with next!

What a blast! The SCD Live Tour has come to an end, and we understand that Gethin got to dance with Camilla again last night (her last dances on Strictly) which must have brought a few tears!

Check out my video of the finale from Friday night here - and I am in the process of uploading some more.....apologies for the wobbly camera work but i was a touch excited!

Myself and several other GGs (and Flavia fans - hello girls!!!) were there on both Friday and Saturday nights - and helped them to WIN!!! Hoorah!

Flavia spotted us (not difficult as we were wearing pink deeley boppers and waving a banner I made for the Proms in the Park in Swansea), waved, and nudged Geth (who was talking......) so we got a wave, which was great!

On Saturday night, during the 'Moulin Rouge' routine, I suddenly saw 'The Yellow Peril' (thanks, Jan!) looking our way, and thought 'I think he's coming this way' - in a flash, and with one or two rugby moves, he leapt the barrier, did a swift left swerve and was round the back of our seats, a tickle of the blue feather fan and a quick, 'Hello!' and he was gone - is it a bird, is it a fan, no it is banana-man.... Nearly fainted!!!!!!!!!!

In the immortal catchphrase of Max Boyce.....'I was there' - at Wembley - the SCD Live Tour on 4th Feb (which happened to be my birthday). Rachel and Vincent won, and Gethin and Flavia were runners up - my heart was pounding waiting for the result to be announced.......

It was a great show - every single one of them danced beautifully but obviously the highlights were a heartstopping Waltz and a spine-tingling Salsa by Gethin and Flavia, the group dance was fabulous and Gethin was gorgeous and charming as usual!

SCD Live Tour - Go, Gethin and Flavia!

Whether it is 43, 44 or 45 live shows (seems to be some different counting methods!!!!), this tour, which runs until 22nd Feb, got off to a great start for Gethin and Flavia. I guess we all knew that their greatest rivals were amongst those dancing in established partnerships, but in the words of Brucie, 'Didn't they do well?'

WOW!

According to reports from Digital Spy, the Waltz was beautiful (naturally), Gethin's hips in the Salsa were amazing and the shirt was *thud* - we are guessing that it was THE see-through shirt or a variant of and that he was just messing with our heads when he said he was wearing PINK.

They both look gorgeous in THIS picture, and they are wearing lemon yellow for the 'Moulin Rouge' inspired group dance - which looks surprisingly rather good.......
