Blue Peter Watch......

Geth was IN the studio - hoorah! 'I'm in charge' may have been Brucie's old catchphrase, but Geth's obviously adopting this as his own.......he was relaxed and looking good in the studio - obviously in that mode I am sure we all know when you are in the process of moving on.

Wall of wierd got a new 'aahh' tho' Geth was underwhelmed and I think I heard 'that'll do' or something similar! Also the question that we ALL wanted the answer to - whether it is a good thing to pee on a jellyfish sting. Gethin Jones, you HAD to ask (there's always one)!

Blue Peter Watch - Arctic Rugby!

Well, what a treat, not only do we see Geth and his team, The Warriors from Helsinki, win a rugby tournament, we also get to see the Jones Boy in the Sauna.....

.......have to say more than the camera lens was getting a bit steamed up! We have a sneaking suspicion someone probably knew that.....added nowt to the story, but thanks!!

The Invisible Jones..............

Well, we THINK Jonesy was hosting the Welsh Baftas/Bafta Cymru yesterday - in fact someone has had a 20 second view on Wales Today, but that's it, no pictures. Loads of stuff on S4C and on the BBC about frocks.......but where the heck are the pictures of Gethin??

Blue Peter watch.............

St George's Day - but not a flag waved on Blue Peter - however, we put the flags out because Gethin was in the studio!

He skipped - not well, it has to be said, but watching Gethin get physical ......I am not complaining.



My personal fave bit was yet another badge-giving exercise - this time dressed as Dracula....the girl (always the girls, Geth!) had drawn a pic of Zoe as a vampire.

Cheeky beggar 'suggested' the young lass draw a pic of him as Dracula and send it in......

Geth's a busy boy!

Well, at the weekend we heard the dulcet tones of Mr Jones on the radio (check it out here), and now it seems that he is going to be hosting his own show on BBC Radio 5 from July (9-12). Well, that's just marvellous, but we like to LOOK at him too!!!

However, that's Saturday morning taken care of for a few weeks.

He's also been in Cardiff helping to 'open' the building work for a childrens support centre.


Strictly failed to win anything at the Baftas, though dear old Brucie got a Fellowship. Several of the Strictly stars were in the audience, as was Katherine Jenkins - but no Gethin!

....or so we thought! It rapidly started to turn into the Gethin Jones show, or as one of the GGs called it 'Strictly Come Gethin' and clip after clip from the show featured the gallant, gorgeous Welsh Dragon that is our Geth - someone else at the Beeb is living in the alternative universe where Gethin won.............
The big news for last night was that we Gethin's Girls have got ourselves an exclusive 'interview' (led by SparklingChampagne) - see http://www.strictlygethinjones.co.uk/ - and don't have a go about the layout or photos, 'cos I did that!!

On the radio......

Geth's on BBC Radio Wales tomorrow - it is a pre-Joe Calzaghe's boxing match programme hosted by Torchwood's Eve Myles, and it starts at 6.30....I of course will be watching Dr Who!

Blue Peter Watch - When I'm Cleaning Windows

Geth was hanging off a VERY tall building on Wednesday's programme, and not liking it at all. Seems he likes to be in charge - like piloting the plane - and scary things that are scary for a long time don't suit at all! Join the club there!



However, it appears he likes cleaning, especially windows (mine need a bit of a polish, Jonesey!)

Imagine sitting in your office minding your own business and there is Gethin Jones cleaning your window....Happy Days !

Strictly Bhangra Dancing - Blue Peter

On last night's programme Geth demonstrated his willingness to have a go at anything by trying out some Bhangra dancing with, it has to be said, a group of lads who looked distinctly underwhelmed at being on Blue Peter, though they gave him 7/10 for effort.

Geth had apparently not seen a script and had no idea, until the costume came out - and was blue to boot!

TV's Gethin sets course for stardom

'STRICTLY Come Dancing star Gethin Jones, sweetheart of Welsh golden girl Katherine Jenkins, has quit Blue Peter three years after joining the long-running children’s show.
The presenter, who recently turned 30, said the “time was right” to leave the series.
His spokesman said he had received “dozens” of offers of work and was in talks about a number of other TV projects.

Jones told his young fans about his plans live on last night’s edition of Blue Peter.

Among the jobs he already has lined up are hosting this month’s Bafta Cymru ceremony and the BBC Young Musician of the Year contest, both of which will be held in his home city, Cardiff.

Today he will be in the Welsh capital to officially launch the 2009 Texaco Young Musician of the Year event.'

So................anyone want to dash down to Cardiff??

Blue Peter Watch - Gethin is going!

On last night's Blue Peter we discovered that Geth is leaving Blue Peter after 3 and a bit years. I am sorry I did not post here, but I was updating the SGJ website, with shaking hand and racing brain!

The news will come as no surprise to Gethin's Girls - who have been speculating as to what his next move might be ever since he waltzed his way through into the Quarter Finals and smoothly glided on into the Semi Finals of Strictly Come Dancing! (Personally I am still convinced he actually did win, but that may have been the 'What a Great Final' thread on the SCD message boards - glitter ball, anyone?)

The BBC marked the announcement with an article here and an interview on News 24 (video on the link given).

Geth was obviously full of emotion during the brief announcement at the end of Blue Peter, and the questions poured in on the BP message board in preparation for a live webchat (and sorry, I may not be under 15, but I was reading it even if I couldn't post!!).

During the webchat, Geth mentioned the ball at which he and Camilla danced, but claimed Cam had told him he wasn't any good. Now, I personally recall her saying how proud she was of him!! ;)


What Geth said: "I've had a career on Blue Peter that you wouldn't even dream about and for that I feel privileged and fortunate."

The star, who also presents BBC News 24's entertainment show E24, said he had " loved" working on the show but felt "the time is right to leave".

He added: "I've appreciated every day of the past three and a bit years and am grateful to all the viewers for tuning in.

"It's very sad to be jumping ship, but I will still be on-screen until the end of the series whilst working on other projects."

BBC Children's Controller Richard Deverell said: "Gethin has more than lived up to our very high expectations of Blue Peter presenters with his total commitment, willingness to try anything and limitless good humour.

His last line will no doubt be one of the most gratifying for Geth.....

"He's done a brilliant job and we wish him well."

Good Luck Gethin - not that you will need it! What a star!

Blue Peter watch April 2nd

Well, this time we had Geth and Andy with animals in a Safari Park, Geth visiting Buck House (and playing the organ), and Geth standing guard over Broadcasting House in the uniform of the Welsh Guards.

Given how giggly we know he is, he did a sterling job of standing there for a couple of hours, under provocation.

Blue Peter Watch 1st April

Today, despite the team not being in the studio, or in the country, we had a nice lot of Geth in today's Blue Peter.

Surfer Geth - wetsuit even better than the jodhpurs - well in MY opinion anyway



Geth in kilt - very nice, like the sweater too.....love that page in my BP annual (oops did I just admit to having BP annuals)

Geth hating rollercoaster, liking ghost train, refusing to ride bigger rollercoaster........loved the kiddy ride bit......there's a man who doesn't mind looking like a wuss!

...and OF COURSE he would rather sit and eat!!!
