Saturday 20 December 2008

It'll be a long and lonely Christmas (special) without Gethin!

As we know (from the man himself) the Cosmo Ultimate Hottie, Gethin Jones, will not be on this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special - but last year's was repeated last night on the pay channel Watch - I can't get this channel, but I dug out my DVD copy of the programme and sighed over a beautiful per-fec-tion of a waltz.......

Photobucket

Well it has been a bit of a Gethin week.....what with the lottery on Saturday, the Police Camera Action Drink Driving special on Wednesday and the odd clips on ITT during the week, not to mnetion Geth's Strictly article in the Telegraph on Friday....

It's Christmas next week in case you hadn't noticed, so this is my opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Also please share our little gift from our magnificent animation Wizard.......

Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!

What's New in a Gethin's Girl's World?

Gethin and Camilla's Argentine Tango featured in Len's Masterclass this week on Strictly 'It Takes Two' - which was good for me!!

Photobucket

We find out Geth will be presenting a radio show on BBC Radio Wales on New Year's Day (10.00-12.00) featuring Griff Rhys-Jones and Rebecca Evans (who refused my offer of Champagne at the Proms in the Park...;) ) (with the lovely Alfie Boe, below)

Gethin has penned his usual Friday 'Strictly Insider' column in the Telegraph today - very diplomatic there, Mr Jones!
Don't forget to tune in tonight to Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two to see Gethin on the Friday panel (with Gabby Logan), and Wednesday on ITV1 at 9.00 for the Police Camera Action special.

Friday 5 December 2008

Baby, it's cold outside, but Gethin is in the pink!

Photobucket

Saturday 29th November and Sunday 30th November

A Strictly party took up most of this weekend, with some fairly accurately predicted scores (thanks to Sue for the number 'paddles'!) and lots of food and drink - reminiscing about Series 5......consensus being that Gethin Jones was indeed, robbed, and the best dancer EVER (well perhaps not the Cha cha cha or Samba....though I am sure he would manage both better now)

Monday 1st December

On a bit of a trawl around t'internet I came across the news that Gethin's 'Drink Driving' show that he mentioned at the Cosmo awards is going to be a 'Police, Camera, Action' special, screened on ITV1, 17th December at 9pm - hooorah! - an hour of Gethin!

Tuesday 2nd December & Wednesday 3rd December

Let's just have a picture.....

Photobucket

Thursday 4th December

The S4C programme, 'Cwis Meddiant' that some of us went to see a couple of weekends ago is apparently being screened starting from 7th January. Hopefully it will be online otherwise the only ones to see it will be in Wales or lucky enough to have Sky!

We get to see Gethin in his Salsa shirt on It Takes Two - can you ever see that too often??

Friday 5th December

What you may or may not know is that shocking or 'hot' pink is Gethin's Girls' signature colour.

Today, in his Telegraph 'Strictly Insider' column, Geth told the world he will be wearing shocking pink for 43 live performances on the SCD Live Tour. I trust this is a see-through pink shirt, or maybe those don't stand up well to continuous wear............shame, anyway!

Photobucket

Don't forget - Gethin hosts the National Lottery results on 6th and 13th December!

Tuesday 25 November 2008

Are we human, or are we dancers?

Oh we are on the songs again - sorry!!!!

Saturday - Tomorrow
Gethin was on e24, looking great, and only making 3 of 'Gethin's Girls' more excited than they already were......

Sunday - Men of Harlech.....and Ystradgnlais......

The big day arrived, 3 of us set off from points East (we are now known as the Cardiff 3, which makes us sound like Axe-murderers) heading towards a TV studio in the Wild West of Cardiff.....in the rain (well, it is Wales).

If it's TV, if it's Cardiff, it must be something to do with Gethin Jones.....and so it was. We had discovered that a quiz show was being recorded, and that audience members were being recruited (Iestyn, you are our hero!).

Before the recording, the Cardiff 3 were greeted by Gethin, looking wonderful and being cheeky as ever, which was only the start of our *thud* moments!

During the day we watched 3 recordings of a rugby-themed quiz, with local teams playing for sports equipment (I think, don't quote me, the whole thing was in Welsh, and I only understand a few words). Have to say the rules passed me by, but we understood many of the questions and got used to when we needed to clap!

Geth was great at warming up the audience as we know he always is, and we had a bit of a chat about Strictly.......with his mic on, oops, getting grief from the Gallery!

It was fascinating watching him work, talking to the unseen team in the Gallery, having a bit of banter with the contestants and trying to break the bracket holding the laptop screen he was reading questions from........Gethin is officially a fidget!

We were also fed and watered in the studio's canteen, and the highlight of our day was being joined over lunch by Gethin, who proceeded to chat with us as if we had known each other for years!! I have forgiven him for blagging some of my cup of Coke! ;) Can't say much about our chat really, we talked about the SGJ website, his career plans, the canteen food, Strictly live tour.......

The afternoon and evening went on, and we parted from Gethin :( with a warm glow and smiles on our faces that we have not lost all week!!! Diolch, Geth (and Iestyn)!

Monday - I have a dream
Well that's what Sunday must have been.....

Tuesday - Matchstalk men and Matchstalk cats and dogs

Found this little gem - Gethin's self portrait!!!

'Ex-Blue Peter and Strictly veteran Gethin drew us this picture, 23rd September' (The One Show website)

Wednesday - You are always on my mind

Gethin was hosting the lottery results programme - which came as a bit of a surprise! Looking handsome as ever! He is on the Saturday results show on 6th December according to the BBC Lottery website.

Gethin beats Steve (Jones that is) - Gay Spy forum ran a poll for a couple of days as to who was hotter, and of course Geth won 134 to 37 (a few of the names of those voting may give away the fact that they were, in fact, girls!!!)

Thursday - Memories

Photobucket

Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two was great for a Gethin fan - firstly Len Goodman featured Gethin and Camilla's beautiful waltz, which we knew he loved, as part of his Masterclass - woo hoo! Then naughty Camilla reminded Tom that Gethin got 4 10s for the waltz (Christmas Special - which he should have WON!)

Friday - It's only words

Gethin's Strictly Insider column is once again in the Telegraph, makes interesting reading......

Friday 21 November 2008

Gethin's Girls celebrate an anniversary

It has been a whole year since SparklingChampagne set up a thread on the BBC message board for Strictly Come Dancing, and 'Gethin's Girls' came into being!

We have an animation Wizard, who has a sense of humour, and has concocted this for us............

Gethin is on the Friday Panel on Strictly Come Dancing, It Takes Two tonight, and is presenting e24 on Saturday at 10.45 am and 5.45 pm

Thursday 13 November 2008

Gethin's Girls are 'Legends'

Well yes, obviously......but these words were from the man himself in an interview of a London freebie newspaper (courtesy of a GG's hubby).................Not only is Gethin totally gorgeous, he's lovely to us too - and we don't speak often enough, Mr Jones (and lord knows I have tried to give him my phone number - I'm only kidding :-) I am not a stalker !).

Not only that, but this from Planed Plant, an S4C programme on Welsh TV (the words at the end have of course been added - thanks to the video clip Wizard). I think there are a couple of words in there I understand........Hours of harmless office fun - I need the crash helmet to fully replicate the experience tomorrow.........

In today's Telegraph (Friday 14th), Gethin's 'Strictly Insider' column contains a couple of little nuggets of information:
  1. He will be on SCD this weekend
  2. He is dancing with Flavia Cacace on the SCD Live tour

Thursday 6 November 2008

Gethin Jones:the Ultimate Hottie

....well according to Cosmo he is (as if we didn't know) and sporting a lovely new suit too!!!

He was also on Smooth Radio east Midlands choosing 6 records on 'Six at Six' - very smooth, Mr Jones!

Friday 31 October 2008

Gone to Ground........

I’m not going to do a day by day report this week, as it has been a funny old week, to be honest!
Saturday’s Strictly was a tough one for some of Gethin's Girl’s, with the Viennese Waltz and Paso Doble bringing back both sweet and bitter memories of SCD5. Geth’s Paso was featured on Len’s Masterclass piece on It Takes Two, which can’t be bad.

I received my SCD annual – and am seething that Geth and Cam’s record-holding and fabulous American Smooth was not recorded as the highest-scoring (they still say Colin and Erin’s), someone at the BBC needs to get their facts straight!

We heard tell of a new Quiz Show to be hosted by GJ, but have now discovered that it is on S4C - in Welsh. After some initial disappointment we decided we’d watch Gethin saying anything in any language if we can……

What it does point out is that the Beeb (and Geth’s new agents) have to find this man something good in prime time, or the wrath of thousands of women will be felt, never mind controversy over Ross and Brand! Perhaps the ill-wind could blow some good in Gethin’s direction – nice guys may not finish last after all!

The Danger Hunters episode this week was Deadly Surf, and it was the best so far! His fear was palpable, his humour infectious, and I especially loved his banter with extreme surfers, ‘They’re nuts, but they’re not nuts’……..oh yes, they are definitely nuts!

Loving Geth in a wetsuit of course, and how the heck he managed to look good at some unearthly hour on a windswept Irish headland, I don’t know!

We know Geth was at the National Television Awards ceremony on Wednesday night, but there was no sign of him in camera shot, and Katherine Jenkins was at the Bond Premiere, so we did not get a sighting of the pair of them on a red carpet together, or Geth in a tux, which the GGs would have been grateful for!

So, we've had another Telegraph article from Geth, a quiz show is recording this weekend….what else is Gethin up to…….fingers crossed there is something in the pipeline – we are missing him!

Friday 24 October 2008

'Oh, my actual days' - says Gethin Jones

Saturday
Party time - in Northampton
Geth's Girls had a get together to watch Strictly - bring back the viewer panels, we say!
Walesonline continue to publish articles about the match last week, but a great quote is to be had from one of them:
'....the media team had a lot of guts....but only Gethin had a six pack' 'nuff said really!

Sunday
Gethin's Girl
Katherine Jenkins sings on Strictly.....unfortunately we couldn't spot Geth in the audience!

Monday
Croeso i Gymru
It appears Geth is co-hosting Children in Need in Wales with John Barrrowman on November 14th - shame we have to put up with Terry and Fearne instead. I think we know which will be more fun!

Tuesday
A book is a friend for life
Gethin will be in a library in Colwyn Bay on 30th October

Wednesday
Danger man
On TV he is looking for lightning (and not finding much) in Danger Hunters on Virgin 1 - which was amusing and interesting, and we liked the shorts and flip flops, Jonesy! Getting a speeding ticket (tut tut, speeding is bad, says she whose middle names are Stirling Moss) was maybe not so good!!!

Apart from the quote in the title, we had the unconvincing, 'I'm gonna have a paddy, don't talk to me!'.

Thursday
Guess who's coming to dinner
Geth hosts an event for Cardiff Blues and gets a mention in an article about bags - hopefully a sports bag, not a little beaded evening number *eek*

Friday
TGIF
This week's Telegraph article is very amusing. Tom, allegedly, is wearing Geth's tango jacket, and Geth muses on whether his biceps will fill it as well as his own - well we know that is unlikely, now don't we, Gethin!

You can't fool us with this little game of feeling like a Strictly cast-off......well, maybe we do feel a bit bereft of Gethin and for him, but since most of our week we have been attempting to book every seat in every stadium for the SCD Live tour, the joke is evidently on us!!!

Friday 17 October 2008

All the world's a stage...and where in the world is Gethin Jones

Saturday
Dance like nobody's watching
I'm still laughing at the Rugby dance.............

The One Show Website has a clip of Geth giving Christine Bleakley dance tips!!!

Sunday
There's Snow Business like show business
Danger Hunters is repeated at 6pm......never too much of a good thing we say!

Monday
No news is good news
..........and I still hate Mondays!

Tuesday
Out of sight but not out of mind
We find out (well two small children and a GG find out) that CBBC have been running a short series of Blue Peter 'moments' - we have seemingly missed 'wildest' and 'craziest', but 'funniest' is on Wednesday and the others are on iPlayer!!!!

Gethin was 'spotted' on the phone in Heat magazine - chatting, well, there's a surprise!

Wednesday
Well there's a day of my life I am never going to get back............
Got a bit confused there for a minute, but Wednesday was TV Heaven for Geth's fans. There was a great compilation of Blue Peter's funniest moments......including some wind problems, a trip, slips, falls, and various other funnies, many of which included Gethin - of course - but the funniest was Matt trapped in an American Football outfit - classic!

Danger Hunters - the one with the tornadoes - was on MUCH later (way past my bedtime, actually, but hey, couldn't miss it). It was good, Geth was good, but his best moment was when he was talking to the people whose house had been destroyed. As lovely with them as you would hope for, but he felt uncomfortable and said so.....no 'Drop the Dead Donkey' moments here. Personally I preferred some of the outtakes on Virgin's YouTube channel......trying to get out of a dollar toll for example........

Thursday
Ain't no stopping Geth now!
Our trashy mag scanner came up trumps with an old article and one from Star mag that we missed (this involved bidding on ebay - so thank you!).

Some local newspapers leak what was obviously a press launch that 'smooth mover' Gethin Jones (and Kennnnyyyyy Logan) is doing the SCD Live tour, along with Jill 'The Jive' Halfpenny, and Julian 'Officer and Gentleman' Clary. Soooooo, bang go those 'Joseph' rumours then!!!

Friday
Thank God it's Friday
Above information is confirmed as Geth appears on the official SCDlive website here

Turns out Geth was at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium to launch the new Welsh rugby strip on Thursday......and one of my workmate's brother played rugby with him.....................small world! Everyone in Wales really does know everyone else, seemingly!

Gethin Jones, oh my, oh my!

Friday 10 October 2008

Once Upon a Time in Gethin's Girls' World

I only have one of the featured books in my VAST collection - can you guess which one?

Saturday
Ballet Shoes
According to that bastion of truth , The Daily Mirror, Gethin Jones and Austin Healey are responsible for a run on the sales of men’s dancing shoes (!).
Strictly - Cam reprises some of Gethin’s jive with Tom, but nothing, absolutely nothing, is ever going to match that leap from the stage and the trouser-melting…………….

Sunday
The loneliness of a long distance runner
Geth takes on the challenge of the Great North Run (his 4th half-marathon) in memory of a young lady called Tamsin and the Joshua Foundation.
Watching it live, and, woo hoo, the Beeb decide Geth is probably a good chap to follow (hmmm, wonder why) and we get a clip of the *thud* Argentine Tango from last year’s Strictly, a chat before, during, and after……………Now some of us were looking forward to a hot and sweaty Gethin, but the man barely broke into perspiration. See later report for why his very respectable time of 1hr 45 probably wasn’t any faster. Don’t believe the ‘I haven’t done much training’ line, either, by the way. It was a lovely day for a bit of a stroll and the sun shone on all the runners. Next year may see one of Geth’s Girls giving it a go (eh, ClaudiaforQueen?).

Monday
Blue Peter Annual

We find out that there will be a special Blue Peter programme on Sunday at 8.40, and that the Buck House tea party thrown by Her Majesty will be shown on the 16th - but will we get any Gethin sightings?
Let’s hope QEII does not trip over one of her own dogs as she did one of the Blue Peter menagerie.

Tuesday
How to be a Domestic God(dess)
apologies, Nigella
According to a rather nice interview in Now magazine, Gethin likes cleaning the bathroom, and his feet before he goes to bed. Well, that’s good, I like a bit of obsessive cleaning behaviour myself!
Geth will be on the Paul O’Grady show with Geri Hallowell (yawn, does that woman NEVER shut up?) on Friday.

Wednesday
Time to Say Hello
We find out in a newspaper article that Gethin and Katherine had a rude awakening from a fire alarm at 3am the night before the Great North Run - blimey what a time to get woken up - APPARENTLY they were in their PJs (now hands up all those who believe Gethin wears PJs - nobody?) . Oh and Nell McAndrew and Tony Blair were there too………..hopefully not together.

New Danger Hunters clashed with the Lottery results show but I saw most of both, Geth looking very good as the Man in Black - and thankfully doing the sensible thing by not taking on the riskiest slope..........however, getting buried alive in snow scared the bejaysus out of him, and us - don't do that again please!!!

Friday
(Gethin) Jones’s Diary

I’m doing this update early as I have things to do……but today, don’t forget:
Geth’s Daily Telegraph Strictly article - an this is a good 'un.
Heat Radio from 2pm (allegedly) apparently he was spotted in Kingston heading for the airport at lunchtime...............
Paul O’Grady Ch4 from 5pm (allegedly)

Friday 3 October 2008

On Days Like These

This week my update is inspired by a set of CDs I just bought called 101 Driving Songs - random? Well, you be the judge!
Saturday
How you remind me (Nickelback)
Half an hour or so well-spent on the Johnathan Ross show. Very amusing, JR claiming action man plaudits he clearly doesn't deserve, and our very own Gethin Jones looking like 'a young athlete' ! 'Wossy' disses hurricanes as 'a bit of wind' and says he isn't going to watch things where they aren't actively riding along - yeah, right!

A video appears on the SCD website with a spoof behind the scenes piece - a supposed 'Arlene' runs her red-painted fingernail down a picture of Geth.....and answers the phone with a husky, 'Gethin' - made me chuckle anyway.

We find out we missed a magazine last week - 'Zoo' turns out to be a Lads' mag that we are all far to wussy to go and buy.

Sunday
Purple Rain (Prince and the Revolution)
The day has finally arrived and we await it with eager anticipation - what am I on about? Gethin Jones' Danger Hunters of course, what else.....

But first, the papers......The Telegraph 7 magazine has the programme as today's highlight, all the others have it as some form of choice...result!!

The show itself is a-may-zing, really well done, Geth - amusing, and with some genuine moments of high drama - a definite rush of adrenalin when a waterspout was spotted tearing up a boat - *eeek*. We now know why Geth didn't tell his mum what he was doing......and we sympathise with Katherine. However, it was a gripping programme well-presented and showing that even under pressure and very scary conditions, our boy can a) keep talking and b) keep smiling. Happy Days! Our favourite bit was a frustrated yell of 'This boat is BROKEN!!'

Some new snow photos appear on the Virgin1 website.

Monday
Manic Monday (the Bangles)
I've said before - I hate Mondays

Tuesday
Bad to the bone (The Destroyers)
Someone who shall remain nameless put a copy of 'Zoo' in her online shopping basket. Turns out there is a nice picture in the article, and that's about it!

Heat magazine has decided Tom Chambers is their new 'Strictly' squeeze, and declares 'Move over, Gethin!'. However, it appears the love affair is not over as Geth will be visiting Heat Towers on Friday 10th to guest on Heat Radio's 'Diet Coke Break'.....still Gorgeous Gethin to Heat!

We find out from a Welsh source that Geth was on a radio programme on Monday, which we track down and listen to. Nice to hear him sounding so happy and relaxed!

Change of plan - news from our man at Virgin1 - says the shows will first air on Wednesdays - starting on the 8th. So that's Weds at 10 repeated on Sun at 9 - got that? Good!

Wednesday
The life of Riley (The Lightning Seeds)
Gethin, Zoe and Andy are in the Guinness book of records (Gethin for lemon-sucking - blimey!)

They are also going to Buck House for the Blue Peter party that her Maj is throwing.

Thursday
Love Potion No 9 (The Clovers)
Well, Hello! - nice full page article and picture. Gethin drinks cocktails - who'd a thought it! Passion and ginger eh - spicy!

My 2009 Blue Peter annual arrives (as GG ClaudiaforQueen put it - 'oohh , Christmas!') - page 52 is rather nice....
Friday
Here I go again (Whitesnake)
Geth is still linked with Strictly - and does his bit in the Telegraph - seems he'd like to get John in front of the drama coach who made HIM believe wiggling his bottom was worth watching, unleashing the beast within (thank you, thank you!).
*NEWSFLASH* - New pics and videos on the Virgin 1 site

Friday 26 September 2008

It's a Wonderful Wonderful World

I just can't stop singing happy songs......

Saturday
Because you’re gorgeous
Gethin was on e24 (BBC News channel) this morning – hooray! This is just as well because we missed him dreadfully on Strictly. Apart from Austin Healey and John Sargeant, everyone seemed to be extremely stressed, and it made me realise how much fun Geth brought to the whole thing (as well as working really hard and being GORGEOUS!)

Sunday
I read the news today, oh boy!

Geth was featured in the Telegraph Magazine in a nice article about Virgin 1’s Danger Hunters programme. There were various other bits in the papers, including a piece about Blue Peter in the Mirror.

Monday
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow

Christine Bleakley announces that ’The lovely Gethin Jones’ will be on the One Show the following day......whoooo hooooo

Tuesday
Go Wild, Go Wild, Go Wild in the country

All of the TV Mags go, well, wild, over Geth’s Virgin 1 show, some with big articles, but almost all featuring it as one to watch.
Gethin appears on the One Show. That couch is a revolting colour and it is NOT Geth’s colour - not that we care – certain of Geth’s Girls declaring they had not even noticed he was sitting on anything (Gethin Jones levitates??). Geth definitely wanted to talk ‘Strictly’ with Ms Bleakley, we saw some footage from the forthcoming show, and it was all very good…….

Wednesday
Diamonds on the soles of his shoes
Tom and Camilla feature on Blue Peter – Gethin sent his shoes – but can Tom and the new BP Presenter Joel fill those size 9 and a half shoes, probably not – and they both had to wear name badges to ensure they didn’t forget they are not Gethin……

Zebedee says it is time for bed for a wage slave……but…….
Text – Geth’s on BBC1 - NOW!!!
Phone call – Geth’s on BBC1 – NOW!!! (thanks, girls!)
There he was, large as life, on the Lottery midweek show……………well, hellooo!

Thursday
Run for home, run as fast as I can…running man…..
We find out two things:
1 Geth is doing the Great North Run (yeah, see you on TV, Geth!)
2 Lottery seems to be a regular thing – next on 8th October – Katherine Jenkins next week………appearing on TV together? We’ll wait and see……Note to self, get in supply of matchsticks to prop open eyelids with.

Friday
The boys are back in town

Righty-o – Gethin is in the Telegraph again as Strictly Insider – so this looks like a regular thing – funny observation about the mens’ hair - ‘ballroom haircuts and humiliation’……good going Geth! Not sure I would have bought this particular paper, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do…..watching lottery show, buying Telegraph – whatever next….
Report in OK online mag that Geth gave Christine a 'secret' Salsa lesson……..there is no stopping this man………….Saturday, on Jonathan Ross's Radio 2 show, from 10am-1pm.....Listen!

Stand by your sofas, the weekend is set fair for – well foul weather actually, sort of, for the waterspouts that Gethin will be chasing on Gethin Jones: Danger Hunters, Sunday, 9pm, Virgin1....... Watch!

Friday 19 September 2008

Thursday 18 September 2008

Park Life

Safe in the knowledge there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it.

Sunday

Oh my - last night was last night of the Proms in Swansea's Singleton Park, as per previous report! The GGs wend their way home.................some visiting some old haunts in Wales, some discovering them for the first time. Cymru am byth!

Confidence is a preference for the habitual voyeur of what is known as... (parklife!)

Monday

The lovely people at Virgin1 have uploaded some new clips to the Virgin 1 website, including Geth being beaten by a six year old girl - wearing pink!!!

The new trailer appears - hoorah.....................and this little nugget appears:

Sunday 28th September 2008 - Virgin 1 9:00pm Gethin Jones' Danger Hunters

Intrepid presenter Gethin Jones follows the world's biggest thrill-seekers on the trail of the most treacherous natural phenomena on the globe. The stunning series premiere sees him take to the seas in search of coast-battering hurricanes and waterspouts.

Oooh err, but at least we know for sure he made it through, relatively unscathed...

Its got nothing to do with your vorsprung durch technic, you know

Tuesday

Radio Times columnist David Butcher

"Will we ever grow tired of watching celebrities do things they are not very good at? After ballroom dancing, performing circus tricks etc., we've now had Soccer Aid......a charity game featuring showbiz stars and former football legends....was rich with moments that made you rub your eyes. I never thought I'd live to see Angus Deayton skinned by Luis Figo, or Alan Shearer. heading a goal courtesy of a lovely cross from the McFly guitarist Danny Jones. It was priceless - and about five times more exciting than your average Premiership game (more sporting too)."

I get up when I want, except on Wednesdays, when I get rudely wakened by the dustmen.

Wednesday

This article on BBC America gives a link to -sigh - Gethin Jones, directly to www. strictlygethinjones.co.uk ......whoopidoo! http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/23/anglophenia.jsp?bc_id=1228

And its not about you joggers who go round and round and round...

Thursday

I was just trawling round the internet, as you do, and found out that, with being away on Saturday and Sunday, ALL Geth's Girls, including those not in Swansea, had managed to miss the fact that Gethin was on BBC News' e24..........we hang our heads in shame!!!! However, we now have a couple of days to watch on iPlayer......

Also dropped into our laps was a rumour that Geth was to appear in Joseph - now, almost unanimously we are agreed that Gethin in a loincloth might be quite alluring *thud*...................however, we HAVE seen a clip of him singing for the Any Dream Will Do judges..........so.....most of us are hoping that it is as a charity activity, or that his singing has improved greatly!!!

It gives me a sense of enormous well-being

Friday

Will Geth be on e24 tomorrow?

The Telegraph has an article by Gethin as a Strictly Insider...................

Sunday 14 September 2008

Intermezzo.......this site disrupted by Gethin Jones!

Apologies for anyone waiting for an update on Friday..................but your correspondent was in Cardiff and Swansea this weekend.

I traversed the country (well the M4 anyway) and paid Cardiff a little visit (lucky old Cardiff!). The Wales Millennium Centre was a fantastic sight, both inside and out and well-worth the cost of a tour.

Anyway, I digress - the point of the trip Westward was for the GGs to see Mr Jones himself hosting the Proms in the Park in Swansea's Singleton Park.
Now I did warn last week that we would be dressed in black and pink..........well, we arrived through the gate - finally, after waiting for over an hour with some other lovely folks - to a greeting from Gethin on stage, in rehearsal gear.......and a comment about our headgear! OK, so the point of the new clothing articles was to draw attention to ourselves, but who knew that would be so effective so soon?

We watched some rehearsals, and settled in for a fantastic evening of musical delights, and to see Geth do a grand job of hosting, as we knew he would. A great rapport with Elin Manahan Thomas and the orchestra and chorus............. some dancing with the delightful Rebecca Evans and the debonair Alfie Boe - yes, that's right, dancing WITH Rebecca AND Alfie.........all in all great job done, Geth! Sorry, bit of an embarrassment being on the front row, not knowing the words of the Welsh national anthem!

Now, some things seem like a good idea at the time (especially after a glass *ahem* or two of champagne) - and one of mine/ours was to say yes to an interview with a lovely lady and some gentlemen from BBC Wales - good grief, what were we thinking? Please do not adjust your sets.....switch them OFF!

Anyway, we did get to speak to Geth at the end of the evening, always a delight! Diolch Geth, once again.....

Monday 8 September 2008

Gethin Jones goes to Wembley!

OK so the Rest of the World (ROW) team lost by 3 goals to England's 4, but what a thriller of a match it was - often hard to tell who were the professionals!

Gethin Jones, playing No. 2, was on the pitch for the whole match and looked fit in all senses of the word...... Played in defence in the first half - he was marking and tackling Alan Shearer!

"Alan Shearer losing out to Gethin Jones. Alan Shearer tackled by a Blue Peter presenter!"

Paddy Kielty called him 'an Adonis' and we got a good few seconds of our man with his top off......woo hoo!

"Everyone who is here had a dream of playing for their country in an international stadium"Gethin Jones pre-match

He took a great shot at goal in the second half when he was moved to mid-field

"Hit first time by Gethin Jones.
He really caught hold of that didnt he - some strike.
30 yds out really catching it cleanly.
Great technique but the ball just rising from its target!"

Swapping shirts with Alan Shearer at the end, Geth looked chuffed to bits - - the former England striker then went on to collect his medal wearing No.2 Jones - RESULT!

Maybe not as much of a dream as playing rugby for Wales at the Millennium Stadium, but it surely had to be up there.

Unfortunately (unless nobody told me) none of the GGs had been able to make it to the match (in 2 years time, Gethin, we will be there en masse!). However, there were some ladies there with t-shirts bearing various slogans, one of which included 'Welsh Wonder', and another about some alcoholic beverages.......no idea who they were, but WE will shortly be resplendent in black with pink GG logos.............................clearly observable at any future events!!!!

Match of the day....week...whatever

(imagine music) di di-di dee di-di-di di dee……..

Saturday
Gethin did his final stint in charge of Eamonn Holmes’ show, and it was a fun programme, with an opportunity to have a look (and try to borrow) Cassie Patten's Olympic Bronze medal. Geth spoke to her Auntie Lesley, who apparently fancies him……..well what else is new!
Nick Knowles was on - wearing Welsh tartan trousers apparently……….hmmmmmm - best not go there!

Oh yes, and in the interests of quoted Chris Hoy accurately, Gethin - EX-Blue Peter presenter - used the word 'arse' 3 times!

THEN we had the National Lottery awards - to be honest (sorry, Ben - Shepherd that is) it was all a little bit boring, then it was Geth‘s turn………..oh my……did a little stumble, made a big joke of it. Loved Jenni Falconer’s comment ‘I thought you were looking so smooth until you did that’. I have to say I thought it just showed a total professional, who has a talent for comedic one-liners….but he must have been mortified!

The outfit of good black suit (Gethin Jones, you need another good suit!!) white shirt and NO TIE caused a controversy in GG land that hasn’t been seen since ‘coat wars’ at New Year!
Personal view - for this is my column - was that he looked great, as usual!

Sunday
Gethin must have been hoping the previous night’s slip had passed by unnoticed………nooooooooooooooooooo! Right from the off he got two hours of non-stop mickey-taking from guests and even a Washington correspondent. Hilarious!!! Even though he threatened to go home at one point, Gethin bore it all manfully.
Biddy Baxter was on (wonder if her new book has MY letter in it?) and was frankly somewhat tedious and expressed an opinion not shared by Geth’s Girls, that Blue Peter is hard to watch for adults - errrr - not when Jonesy was on it wasn’t!

Monday
……………..did I mention I hate Mondays?
Well, not so much this one. We found out that ‘Glamour’ Magazine featured the lovely Mr Jones - even more lovely because the GGs got yet another mention (hoorah!), even if the fact we know more about him than he does came under the category of ‘scary’…….and for the record, it was not me who wrote in asking for his socks.

Tuesday
Nothing in the trashy mags - but the Radio Times lists him as being part of the ‘Rest of the World’ team on SoccerAid 2008, Sunday 7th September 6-10pm.

Wednesday
Hoping for a glimpse of Geth on the Soccer Aid programme tonight at 10.35 - and there he was (see pic at top) looking very FIT! 'Gethin's Good' say Ant & Dec - oh yes we know!

Thursday

"The rest of the world team is a wounded beast and they want to get their revenge"
Gethin Jones

Friday
Jonesy gets quoted in this BBC article

Jones said: "You learn the lesson that when people ask if you are any good at football you say, 'not really' and they're pleasantly surprised.
"When you are playing with world class players, they actually make you look good because you can ping the ball anywhere near them and they'll make it look like a good pass."

Sunday 31 August 2008

Have a nice trip...................

Sorry, Gethin

Check this out

Friday 29 August 2008

Coming Soon to a TV Screen near YOU!

(imagine Pearl & Dean music)

Saturday
Gethin’s Radio 5 Live show revealed that he had been to New Zealand looking for an avalanche or two - once again looking a wee bit jetlagged …..

Now the GGs are starting to worry about Gethin’s ‘Carbon Footprint’! The Olympics took up a fair bit of the show.

Geth was obviously on ‘other half’ duty this weekend as he was spotted at Kenwood where Miss Jenkins was singing.

Spotted on the Lottery Awards Show promo video - there he was ‘twirling’ Camilla at last year’s show.

Sunday
Radio 5 Live show was once again dominated by the Olympics - and the handover show - we heard the Diva herself practising and were glad to hear Jonesy was getting a bit of R&R by attending the event.

Monday
Bank Holiday Monday - and the sun was shining…..but there was no news of Gethin…..

Tuesday
Geth appears listed in this week’s Radio Times for the Lottery Awards programme on Saturday, without reference to Strictly or Blue Peter for clarification - it is official, Gethin Jones needs no further introduction!

Wednesday
Nope……remind me - it has all gone blank……oh yes, ITV’s Soccer Aid - some say he is taking part - the ITV website doesn’t put him on ‘the list’ - don’t they know he is a STAR??

Thursday
Well, it was a tricky old day - we knew the new batch on Strictly would be announced - which was making us feel sad :-( . Could it, would it be the same without Gorgeous Gethin (NO!!!!!) or Gavin - as one obviously non Gethin’s Girl SCD message boarder had it…….Camilla dancing with another man - this cannot be right, but this GG wishes the original GG all the best!

However, I also spotted a ‘teaser’ ad for Geth’s new Virgin 1 show on Dave (yes, I am addicted to old Top Gear shows)- ‘Coming Soon’! Yippee!

Nearly forgot - uploaded this video to YouTube

Friday
A little snippet from Soccer Aid:
Joining Rest of the World team, TV presenter Gethin Jones says: “I’m an alright player. I’ve got an engine which is my main strength, but can also give it short. I’d like to think I’m a Ray Wilkins kind of player, but I’m probably more like David Batty. I’m not as a fit as I should be, but I can do a job kicking the ball and giving it to people like Romario to weave their magic!”
“(Peter) Schmeichel was a legend in Manchester while I was at university there, so it’s going to be incredible. You have to pinch yourself, but I just hope I play more than two minutes."

According to the Radio Times and the ITV website Soccer Aid is on ITV on Sunday 7th September 6pm - 10pm (thanks for the above, Jan!)

Before then, we have the Lottery Awards on BBC1, Saturday 30th at 8pm……be there or be…well……somewhere else I suppose..........

Friday 22 August 2008

This week's report...........

Saturday and Sunday - C minus
- A whole lot of nothing going on…………hope Geth’s having a nice break

Monday - A
We found out that Gethin will be presenting an award at the National lottery awards on 30th August

Tuesday - A plus
The words ‘Gethin Jones’ appear on the front cover of the Radio Times, and Gethin is there in the ‘final word’ section, nice picture (funny that, used to be on the SGJ website……), and a long article about his Radio 5 Live show. Inquiring minds wish to know why this did not appear sooner, and whether this is still just Geth’s holiday job………………….

Wednesday - A minus
Gethin’s FA video mate, Ben Shepherd, is hosting the Lottery awards. Give Geth a break!

Thursday - A plus
GGs discover http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/ , a site we feel Jonesy would appreciate. Small gems are the newsletter, and ‘underpant toast‘…………………

Friday - Ungraded
Will post contents of Gethin’s radio show as and when they appear. Don’t forget, Radio 5 Live - 9-11 Saturday and 10-12 Sunday

Saturday 16 August 2008

This broadcast has been interrupted by the Olympics!

How very dare they.......

Saturday

Geth's R5 live programme was late starting. In the studio, they were looking ever so slightly BORED BORED BORED as Nicky Campbell ineptly handled links and apologised for messing up Geth's programme.
HOWEVER - the first British gold medal was won - and by a Welshwoman too - gwych!!

Hardeep Singh Koli did a hilarious programme from the Eisteddfod, quote: 'I feel so Welsh - without the hangups!'

Sunday

A much better programme, with Gethin handling the links to Beijing expertly - give the right man the job next time, Auntie Beeb!!!!!

Monday

*drums fingers* - nothing much happening. Hopefully Geth is getting chance for a bit of a break....

Tuesday & Wednesday

Nothing going on in the trashy mags (and we have a specially-appointed trashy-mag scanner)

Radio Times suggests there is no Gethin on radio for the weekend of 23/24 August either*....and we know he is not on this weekend.

* The R5 live website says yes to next Saturday and Sunday - 9 to 11 on Saturday 10 to 12 on Sunday

Thursday

GGs in Wales report sightings of Geth (sadly only on an Eisteddfod poster).

It appears he is cutting hair for charity in September. Anybody thinking of taking up this offer, please see Blue Peter 'makes' - *Gethin Jones - step away from the scissors*.

I have uploaded a new photo to Geth's Wikipedia page........

Friday

Speculation has been made about whether Geth will make an appearance at the 2012 Handover Party on The Mall on 24th August.....................a certain Welsh Diva is singing, so I guess it is a possibility.

Friday 8 August 2008

Ciao for now! (as they say in Llandaff - apparently!)

There's a bit of a Jones vibe - even more than usual..........

Saturday - A minute of your time
Well, the GGs seem to be taking up rather more minutes than strictly necessary on the Gethin Jones Radio show!!! Check me out, I was on the podcast - well my question(s) to Francesco Da Mosto were anyway. I, along with some other GGs, was in York, so didn't get to listen, but texts were sent and read out, and cheesy songs chosen.

Sunday - It's not unusual
Geth loves a challenge, as we know - and did a great job charming the Chinese ambassador (yes, she is female - of course!)whilst standing in for Gabby Logan. Annie commented that if Chinese lady Ambassadors wear knickers, she left without them (thus inspiring the Tom Jones song titles). Apparently there was also some flirting with a violinist.......

Geth flew off to Florida to find a storm (could just have stayed here!)

Monday - The Green Green Grass of Home
News of another Eisteddfod ad came our way (see post below)

Tuesday - What's new, Pussycat?
A somewhat less than edifying celeb mag called 'Reveal' has an exclusive - with nothing much new in it apart from a small pic of Geth at work being an ambassador (wiz zese photos, you are really spoiling us) for the National Lottery good causes.....This article is rehashed endlessly in the press all week.

Wednesday - (Why, why why?) Delilah
The blog got a hit from Alaska - perhaps the new Blue Peter presenters are checking out the last guy...................

Thursday - Funny, familiar, forgotten feelings
Gethin appears on a Blue Peter Olympic special - not for long, but since he is just wearing a pair of swimming trunks - it's good for me!

Friday - If only I knew
What the heck was going to be on Geth's shows over the weekend. Thankfully I will be listening - glued to the radio - well, not literally, but............well, you know what I mean - listen to him - ah go on!

Tuesday 5 August 2008

Gethin Jones in Football Association video........

The FA has launched a film called 'Can We Have A Referee?' featuring Fabio Capello, referee Howard Webb and several ex-pros and celebrities (including Geth of course)
The film is part of the Respect campaign which aims to retain more referees, as many quit every year through abuse and intimidation.

Weekly witterings

Saturday - ‘Have a word with yourself!’
Gethin was on the radio – and verily, it was good! There was a bit of one-upmanship with Peter Duncan, I’m sorry, no contest……..Geth wins……….Not a lot of people know this, but Gethin has achieved the following feats that appear in the Guinness Book of Records:
Peeling lemons
Tying shoelaces
Pulling crackers (saw that one! Oh blimey, just admitted to watching Blue Peter – again!)
Largest gathering of people with the same surname (there were a few Joneses, then!)
Liz thingy (what the heck is her name? Obviously not watching a lot at that point….) seemed to have done even more daredevil things than the boys – sorry – but why? Trying to kill yourself on national TV is evidently not something a sensible woman needs to do!
We hear that Geth is off to Arizona - will the website get a ping from the ‘Grand Canyon’, or ‘Copper’ State? Of course it will!
Auntie Jan texts in to see if Raef is chicken – the answer it seems, is yes!

Sunday – When the going gets tough……….
Some GGs were off of a tough shopping challenge, but we still managed some inter-county texting and established that the Sunday Mirror mag had an article on our boy – not much news, but nice pics!

Monday – ‘Tell me why - I don’t like Mondays’
Well I just don’t, OK!

Tuesday – I rode through the desert on a horse with no name……………
The website – and this blog - got ‘hits’ from Arizona – wave to Geth, everyone!
A very nice ad for the National Eisteddfod of Wales appears on BBC Wales……frantic search for a vid clip begins…..and is successful (diolch!)

Quote: 'Which one's the dish' (Sparkling Liz)

Wednesday – midweek madness
I do a link to said vid clip – blogs hits go mad, from literally the world over……….now that could be for Gethin, Ioan, or, more probably, Matthew ……who cares?
Guardian blog implies that these gentlemen are 3 of Wales’ hottest properties – and all went to the same school!
A GG drove past said school, but resisted the temptation to pop in for a visit (we are not stalkers, really!)

Thursday – thank goodness tomorrow is Friday

Friday – Gethin Jones - the ‘stand in’ man
BREAKING NEWS - Geth will be opening the Eisteddfod (along with others) together with some choirs, including one from his old school….awww!

We hear that there will be two doses of Gethin Jones on Radio – Saturday from 9-12, and another on Saturday from 10-12 – will this cure a severe case of Gethinitis – I think not – the webcam doesn’t substitute for proper visual contact!

What's on the show tomorrow?

Saturday 2 August:
Gethin talks to the man with the silkiest voice on television, Venetian architect Francesco Da Mosto about his travels around Italy for the BBC.

A comedian who describes himself as the "fat Michael Owen" and star of new show Tonightly is in the studio. It's Jason Manford.

Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes star Marshall Lancaster will tell us if sharing a stage with a 33 tonne locomotive is scarier than sharing the screen with DCI Hunt...

An extreme pilot and an extreme sailor, Mike Goulian who will be spending the weekend flying at ridiculous speeds over the River Thames for the Red Bull Air Race, and Ed Baird, Americas Cup winner who is spending the weekend flying boats in Cowes.

We'll see if Rob Burrow has recovered from his run in on the rugby pitch last weekend, and hear his views on the new X-files film.

The hero of last weekends Twenty 20 Final between Middlesex and Kent, The Blacksmith, Tyron Henderson will be on the line.

Plus, new band Grammatics bring their Cello in to the studio, Raef brings his hair, and we want you to bring your suggestions of the cheesiest summer songs, ever.

Wednesday 30 July 2008

Poor Reception...........?

..............and I thought I was having trouble with DAB!

Gethin Jones, Matthew Rhys and Ioan Gruffudd seem to be having a bit of trouble getting the Eisteddfod on the radio (...but surely they won't be able to watch the country dancing!)

- thanks to our video wizard!!!

Thursday 24 July 2008

'Seven Days' is All She Wrote

(Days of the week and title by Sting (Seven Days) )

Saturday could wait
Very quick addendum to last Friday - was listening to Claudia Winkleman's radio show on Friday night and they reviewed the 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' film without mentioning the 'other' Jones! Yay, Claudia!

Anyway, back to Saturday...........Yes, everything else on Saturday had to wait for Gethin's Radio 5 Live show to finish. Fun, games, chat, films, live music - what more could you ask for.................well, a better film reviewer than 'Pocket Rocket' Rob Burrow! (I've been to see The Edge of Love - it's got Welsh people in it - can I review it, please, please??)

Well, anyway, Geth was looking and sounding relaxed there (until 11.00 when the webcam went off again) - loads of his famous research having been done, and I am loving the random points allocation in the Olympic Years quiz. If Sue Barker ever decides to leave Question of Sport, I am sure Jonesy could do it justice!

Sunday'd be too late - Nothing in the papers - that can't be right!

Monday, I could wait 'till Tuesday -(Well, that is when Heat comes out)

Tuesday, if I make up my mind
To buy or not to buy..................hmmmm. Well, I had a look at Heat and indeed there was a TINY TINY (Imagine Craig R-H saying that - well, maybe not) picture of Geth - in respect of a letter regarding 'furry' men being back in vogue - well, when were they not - is my opinion.... Even better, the pic used was from the Gethin in chains photo shoot. Oh how we GGs wish they'd publish all those photos!!!

(thanks for buying and scanning, Becca!)

Wednesday would be fine
'Auntie' Jan found that a rather lovely prize bull belonging to G Jones won at a Welsh farming show............Welsh GG Em was watching.........However, it is the image that these words conjure, rather than the reality --------G Jones.......prize bull...... *thud*

Thursday's on my mind
Turns out that Eastenders 'stars' have been forbidden to join Strictly this year due to the extra long run (it is 16 weeks). If only this were last year..........................

The little 'chains' pic arrives in several GGs radar and causes a bit of a scramble........goodness knows what kind of flutter more of those pictures would cause!

Nearly forgot, La Webmistress received notification of another Virgin 1 video on YouTube........this is for a promo video for the new series. See it here

Friday'd give me time
Waiting for news on the guest list for Gethin Jones, Gethin Jones, Gethin Jones on Radio5, on Radio5...........................*taps fingers impatiently*

Saturday 26th July:
Celebrity Masterchef winner - Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon is in the studio to share her new found cookery skills.
Chief Scout and Blue Peter Legend - Peter Duncan - dares Gethin to a game of presenter Top Trumps
Dr Who assistant Martha Jones AKA Freema Agyeman talks to Gethin from Royal Albert Hall as she prepares for tomorrow's Dr Who Prom
"The Thick of It" star Chris Addison talks about his new show - Lab Rats
There will be live music in the studio with London band, Brute Chorus
After 11, Comedian John Bishop and Olympian Iwan Thomas help Gethin look back at the Olympic Year of 2000
PlusUS Presidential candidate - Barack Obama - is due to give his maiden UK speech during the show..

Friday 18 July 2008

That was the week, that was!

New weekly round up feature, chez the SGJ blog.....

Saturday, works hard for living
The day started with the Gethin Jones radio show on Five Live, and was especially good, since I got a text read out and Becca got to chat live (and make ghost noises). It was an entertaining programme and Jonesy sounded right at home there in the studio!

Sunday - a day of rest
Would there be anything in the Sunday mags? Yes, a strangely interesting half page article in the Sunday Express. Soooooooo, Geth has a liking for banana custard and apple crumble - and rice cakes!

Monday, Monday, so good to me....
I was in Wales, and the Fron choir's renditions were inadvertently popping into my head as I wandered round the 'land of my fathers'............ ;)

Tuesday on my mind
No Gethin in Heat - Steve Jones instead (not looking half as good, no chains for a start!)- how long will it be before people ask if HE is GETH'S brother??

Wednesday, full of woe

....no Geth......

Thursday, far to go

For some reason best known to myself I decided to mention Chinese horoscopes to some other Geth's Girls - Geth was born in the year of the horse, incidentally (let me just say jodhpurs and whips right now). Shoot me now, I wish I had never mentioned it!

Thank God, it's Friday

Discovered that Nigel Kennedy will be on Geth's radio show tomorrow - as 'Aunty' Jan said - I bet Nigel's mum let him have HIS violin! Also some music from Melee (thank goodness, I do like a bit of live music on the radio). Will Rob Burrows have watched the film he is reviewing this week?

Wednesday 16 July 2008

Keeping up with the Joneses

Well, all is not well with the Jones boys.....

Twinkle-toes Jones, aka our Gethin, has been his usual charming self in recent interviews (of which there have been many), good-naturedly denying that Steve of the same surname is actually his brother!

They may both be Welsh, dark, handsome and prone to taking their tops off, but there the resemblance ends, it appears.

The other Jones boy is less gracious in response to questions regarding a potential appearance in Strictly.....in a recent Heat interview he says something to the effect that he is 'a presenter' and doesn't need to do that to make a living. So, Steve, appearing half-naked in a teen-angst flick is sooooo much better for a presenter's career, is it?

Perhaps it is more a case of the green-eyed monsters.

Hip-wiggling, fiddle-playing, muscle-pumping, mountaineering, rugby-playing, cave-crawling, high-flying, fast-jiving, scary-surfing, Welsh-speaking....GETHIN

More than your average presenter.....

Saturday 12 July 2008

We're listening (and texting, and phoning)

New Fron choir version for the Gethin Jones Show on Radio Five Live

Here .......to 'Men of Harlech'

Gethin Jones is a waltzer
Shakes his hips as he does a salsa
Women swoon when he enters a room
It's Gethin on Five Live

I got a name check in a question to Daley Thompson and, more importantly, our very own slightly giggly(afterwards anyway - very good on air) Becca got to speak to Geth about what to do in Edinburgh, lucky girl!

Don't forget to listen to Gethin!!

Saturdays 9 am Radio 5 Live

Here's the website

Thursday 10 July 2008

Gethin Jones' Danger Hunters - and there's more

Virgin 1 have a picture gallery for Geth - we like the wetsuit............. ;)

Gethin is OK!

Well, there he was in OK magazine.....4 and a half pages......love the photos. Not quite as much as the one in Heat, but you can have too much of a good thing (maybe not)

Surely it has to be the talk show round next, and Top Gear....

Tuesday 8 July 2008

Everyone loves Gethin Jones

Well, so it seems.

Today we have found a small piece with photo in Heat, and a slightly longer article in next week's Radio Times about 'The face behind the voice'.

A GG in Wales has tracked down a magazine article written by two talented 16 year old budding journalists in a local magazine.

Finally, we understand from another GG in Wales that there is a 3 page spread in OK Magazine..........but 3 others have only found last week's Coleen and Wayne extravaganza............

Gethin, we believe, is Stateside again, chasing storms (yes, chicks really 'dig' weather *rolls eyes* - watch the Virgin1 YouTube videos if you don't know what I am talking about)

Sunday 6 July 2008

Gethin Jones' Danger Hunters

Clips are now on YouTube - Can you believe Virgin 1 contacted La Webmistress at http://www.strictlygethinjones.co.uk/ to ask for a link to be put on............... check them out!!!!!

Here is a still or two to whet your appetite - scary twister out there, Geth??

..and 'How's that for nerves?'

Fron Choir - a familiar tune with new words

Click on the picture to hear some new words to Land of my Fathers.........hilarious!

(and check out the figure on the left in the version of this album cover when you click)

Here is another one - my favourite - Cwm Rhondda.............sort of

Saturday 5 July 2008

Gethin Jones on Radio 5 - watch out Eamonn!

The Fron choir singing 'Gethin Jones' to the tune of Cwm Rhondda - and Land of my Fathers...........

The theme from Bread at an inopportune moment...........

Lesbian invasion of a Sue Lawley show (memories of 1988)..........

This show is just fab - Geth's relaxed and seems to be enjoying it hugely. Liberated from the shackles of children's TV, able to make political comment (ish).......woo hoo, and a webcam too (well, untill 11.00 when they all disappeared).

Jan got her text read out - big highlight (check it out here), and we heard during the show that the GGs get a mention in an article in this weekend's Mail..................so we are happy bunnies!

Tuesday 1 July 2008

Radio...........and here's the news

Nice guys finish last..............

Well, true..........but this was more what I was having what I believe is known as a 'fangasm' (!!!!!) over today...................in Heat magazine......4 pages of interview and pictures

Photobucket

See this one..............that bicep there is one I had a little stroke of (he WAS wearing a shirt though)

Photobucket

It also appears he will be on BBC Breakfast on Friday, and of course he is on the Rad-i-o (Radio 5 Live at 9) on Saturday.

Tomorrow Geth's best bits will be on Blue Peter, and that should be a cracking programme if Zoe's today is any indication.

I wrote some song lyrics (to the tune of the Bay City Rollers' classic 'Bye Bye Baby' ) and if you have made it past those pics, well done, so here it is:

Bye Bye BP - an ode to Gethin’s departure (To Auntie Beeb)

If you hate me after what I say
Can't put it off any longer
I just gotta tell ya anyway

Bye Bye BP, BP goodbye.
Bye BP, BP bye bye.
Bye bye BP, don't make me cry
Bye BP, BP bye bye.

It’s the only kid’s show I see
But to watch now Geth‘s gone? Not me!
I wish it could be.
I could watch again, but why begin it
'Cos there ain't any future in it,
Geth’s the best, but now he’s left, so:

Bye Bye BP, BP goodbye.
Bye BP, BP bye bye.
Bye bye BP, don't make me cry
Bye BP, BP bye bye.

Wish I had written you a letter,
Wish you kept Geth - so much better, for a GG
How good it would be for me.
Now I tell you that I won’t be there,
There's a new crowd, I just don’t care,
Geth’s the best, but now he’s left, so:

Bye Bye BP, BP goodbye.
Bye BP, BP bye bye.
Bye bye BP, don't make me cry
Bye BP, BP bye bye.
